The Women’s Federation for World Peace, International (WFWPI) is an NGO working in over 120 nations to empower women and girls as peacebuilders and leaders through education, advocacy, partnership, reconciliation and humanitarian service- with an active presence at major UN Offices. We recognise the family as the most important social unit and the foundation for ethical, cohesive and prosperous societies.  We are committed to advancing women’s role in the 21st-century and engaging leadership that is principled, creative and effective in addressing challenges of our globalised community.

Annual women’s leadership conferences have been held in prominent venues throughout Europe since 2001. These important events have given women leaders and young developing leaders with diverse expertise and common concerns the opportunity to share knowledge, tools and resources and strengthen solidarity.  This year’s meeting will be held in Tirana, Albania from November 16-18.

The conference will begin with a public event, planned for the National Parliament in Tirana. Leaders from Albania and throughout Europe will meet to listen and share, under the banner, “Women and nation building: Dialogue between political leaders, government and civil society”

Building on the debates and outcomes of previous conferences, the sub themes that have been chosen are:

  • Peace Leadership: WFWP Education and Curriculum
  • Harmony through Integration and Unity in a Diverse Europe
  • The Dignity of Women and Healthy Families: Preventing Violence
  • Women’s Empowerment and Impact: Capacity-building *

*As has been our tradition, there will be a series of mini-workshops in areas related to leadership skills, capacity- building, advocacy, networking and other practical resources. We hope you will bring in your specific knowledge, expertise and good practices to broaden our program.

Participation Information can be found in the attached registration form and is posted on our WFWP-Europe website www.wfwp-europe.org and WFWP-Europe Facebook page Facebook WFWPIEurope.  We hope you will decide to contribute your knowledge, talents and experience to this remarkable event.

Very sincerely,

President, Women’s Federation for World Peace-Europe
